Mother Teresa was noted for her charity, unselfishness and courage. She dedicated her life to Jesus with devotion and joy. Jesus wanted Mother Teresa to start a religious community. Mother Teresa started 'The Missionaries of Charity' which was for the poorest of the poor. On the 17th of August 1948, Mother Teresa wore a blue and white sari for the first time. The first time she went to the slums was the 21st of December. She visited families, cleaned the sores of children and cared for a dying woman and also sick people. Every day, Mother Teresa started with Communion. Mother Teresa also had Missionaries in Rome, Tanzania and Venezuela. She found people that were turned away from hospitals.
Mother Teresa pursued a religious life by helping people who were affected by poverty. She pursued a religious life because she felt by helping others she was fulfilling her duty to serve Jesus. By doing this, she helped people who were nearly dying and she was doing what Jesus had asked of her which was commended by the families in the missionaries.
Mother Teresa was admired by all the nuns at the missionary by all the work she had done despite her health declining and this had shown her dedication to helping people affected by poverty and following the words of Jesus.
